Well?!

We loved our roadtrip! :) It was definitely a whirlwind since we drove 16,000 km in 5 weeks but we saw as much as we could and there will be places we'll get back to someday. Thanks for checking out our blog! We'll be catching up with friends and family during the next couple of weeks and then the next adventure begins...stay tuned.

The final stretch

So we were going to hightail home in 2 days (and we did) but do end up doing some sightseeing on the way.

Famous Wall Drug store (I only knew it was famous once we got in to South Dakota).
Badlands National Park

Favourite shot

Didn't think we would see this sign again...oh right, we were going to ship the car back from Cape Cod...what happened to that idea?
Umm...second to last day of the trip but I guess it's time to have one more bison burger. We are back in Montana after all.
This one is for you Tyler!

Tyler - Have you ever seen so many fire hydrants?!

Spent the night in Spokane and then we went to Leavenworth...this Bavarian village I've been wanting to see for years.
Super cute!

We were trying to be healthy and had smoothies and oatmeal in Spokane...by lunch, we were eating Bratwurst! Oh dear.
The final stretch

Iowa

After Chicago, we had a nice, short drive to Iowa (only 5 hours!), which was great. We were welcomed with open arms by Mike's aunt and uncle. Thanks Paula and Nasser!

Goodbye Chicago!

Didn't this used to be by our old apartment?

Beautiful library in Des Moines

They sure have some interesting statues here!

Yup.

So nice to eat in this restaurant!
They have some wonderful cycling trails here.

Complete with ice cream socials on the side!!! I could hardly believe our luck.

The BBQ queen

Yummy!!
Facetime!

And off we go! Going to make it home in 2 days.

Chicago (one of the top places)

Chicago is a beautiful city and we loved exploring there! It's definitely one of our top places to return to...we did experience a bit of its wind though! I'd need a hat if I lived there.

Looks tropical here...is this really Chicago?

Love the architecture here...saw this is on the architecture cruise (thanks for the tip Christine and Paula).

Their 2 level streets make things very efficient.

Just off to my local wine store (err, pharmacy).

Free performance

We seemed to be the only ones concerned about this situation.

View from the Hancock building

Oh dear, yet another one (free too).
One of his humps was bent. :(

The best healthy food chain ever (also found them in Washington, DC). That's Mike juicing it up.

Hotel lobby...look up!
There it is! We've travelled this whole country and we finally see an Avigilon camera!
