Hi again...so we've been driving a lot the past couple of days and I still can't believe we were in Arizona yesterday morning. We stayed last night in Santa Fe and tonight we're in Dallas (and let me just give a quick plug for hotwire, it's been great!). And then tomorrow...we're off to New Orleans, where we will plant our butts for 3 nights. Seems almost unbelievable, us staying in a place for 3 straight nights. ;) Before we do this though, we have to deal with the laundry situation...we haven't done any yet and it's definitely time. We can't have 2 smelly Canadians showing up to New Orleans, can we? I'm hoping Dallas will come through on this front...our hotel is right next to the Galleria mall here though so maybe we should just take a quick trip there instead! First thing we did when we checked into our hotel in Dallas (at 10pm)...order steak! Some other random comments:
- cell phone talk in the bathroom stalls seems to be quite popular in the States - full conversations!
- stopped at an awesome rest stop today in Texas (even had tornado shelter inside) and while I was doing my thing, one of the workers came out and said to Mike, "You guys sure are a long way from home...did you ever think of taking a a plane?" hahahahaha
- random drugged up guy last night on the street in Santa Fe started chatting with us (he was very friendly) and got so excited when we said we were from Canada. He said "Everything's free there!" and I said "Oh, like healthcare?" and he said "Like marijuana!" hahahahaha again
Okay, here are some pics from the last couple of days. Wish us luck on the laundry front! And then Bourbon Street, here we come!
